comprehensive weight loss and weight
management program.
1995 - 2000 Flaget Memorial
Hospital, Bardstown, KY President/CEO. Flaget is one of the
70 hospitals within Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) which is the largest
non-profit Catholic hospital system in the United States. Responsible
for over all operation of the hospital. Hired all key administrative
staff, assessed organization needs, realigned reporting relationships and
strengthened the management team.
Developed and implemented a strategic
plan that increased the hospital's scope of service while doubling inpatient
and outpatient volumes. Worked with the Board and Medical Staff to
lead a "turn-around" that began with a $900,000 operational loss in fiscal
year 1995 to a 1.6 million dollar profit in the year 2000. Led the facility
through an acquisition in 1998 from the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth
Health system to Catholic Health Initiatives. Resigned the position
in June, 2000 leaving the facility with a leadership transition plan and
with 12.5 million in cash reserves.
