Opened, organized, built and manage a 101-bed homeless shelter for
women and 18 beds for children. The shelter counts 14 non-medical
detox beds, 28 long-term recovery (from addictions) beds, 24 overnight
emergency beds, and 33 SROs (Single Resident Occupancy) used for
transitional housing. Hire, supervise and train the staff
(14 caseworkers
and 8 assistant staff); implemented recovery program; write all
reports;
write and manage budget. Maintain high program standards
to exceed
standards set forth by the Licensing and Regulations authorities.
Compile
and analyze data for research project. Collaborate closely
with the medical profession. Rewrote and updated the P&P Manual.
Developed and
implemented new forms. Organized the infrastructure
of the shelter.
Wrote a funded 3-year Community Partnership Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation Grant for the expansion of the Women?s Program.
Active on multiple boards and committees in the community
and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Implemented a 3-year Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT)
grant to work with pregnant and postpartum substance abusing women.
Wrote the Policy & Procedure Manual; hired, trained and supervised
staff
of four (4) case managers, administrative assistant, and health
educator. Collaborated closely with the project evaluator.
Coordinated and trained
the medical staff from seven (7) Jefferson County Health Department
sites and two (2) University Hospital sites designated as Project
Link's
prenatal and postpartum referral sources. Served as liaison
between
medical and chemical dependency communities. Wrote two
(2) funded
continuation grants which culminated in the project to be funded
permanently
by the Commonwealth of Kentucky after expiration of the 3
years.
Managed a $270,000/year budget.

the community and over northern Louisiana. Collected, analyzed
